This SIGMECH | R Part (Replacement Part) from ISMI allows operators to tune their P320 guide rod assembly to match their style or personal preference. These springs work by increasing or decreasing your guide rod spring's "spring rate" - which is a measure of how much force is required to compress (or extend) a spring by a certain distance (in the P320 this will be from rest, to the distance it takes for the slide to retract and return to battery).
While higher spring rates increase stiffness and require more force to compress, lower spring rates mean the springs are more flexible and require less force to compress. Operators should be aware that using the incorrect spring weight can cause failures to feed, failures to return to battery or stovepipes. However, being able to tune your spring rate also means you can adjust for these things and find a perfect balance of performance and recoil reduction.
The ISMI guide rod tuning springs come in three P320 model options: X5, X-Ten and Full Size and spring rates of 12lbs and 14lbs (most common spring rates).
NOTE: Sig Sauer classifies springs as consumable components where optimal performance will degrade at approximately 10,000 cycles, (for reduced spring rates this should be adjusted to approximately 8000 cycles).
